What is  Yoga ?
Yoga  is an enriching path to find our own true nature by gradually building inner awareness and letting go of the futilities of life.
“Through constant practices of Yoga, one can overcome all difficulties and eradicate all weaknesses. Pain can be transmuted into bliss, sorrow into joy, failure into success and sickness into perfect health. Determination, patience persistence lead us to the goal”. (Bhagavad Gita).
The great Yogis gave a rational interpretations of their experiences and brought within everyone’s reach a practical, scientifically prepared method. Amongst the most important works on this subject are the Yoga Sutra by Patanjali (200 BC) named as Astanga Yoga.
The other important works that this book is based upon and they are of hatha yogic literature: Hathapradipikā of Svātmārāma (around 15th century AC)  and Gherandha Samhita (around 16 or 17th century).
There are mainly 2 groups of Yoga

Bhavana Yoga that is for the development of a particular attitude and include Jñāna Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga
Pranasamyham Yoga is the yoga for the control of breathing and includes Mantra, Hatha, Laya and Raja Yoga.

According to ones own true nature one can adopt either of the practices or combine some together for ones own use. Through every Yoga, one is trying to know the truth and detach oneself from all the things that bring pain

ĀSANAS (Postures)

Sthiram sukham aāsanasm », meaning that position which is comfortable and steady. In this context, āsanas are practiced to develop the ability to sit comfortably in one position for an extended period of time.

Prānāyāma (Breathing Exercise )
